The medal count is up to nine as a Tallassee High School swimmer. Macey Stewart won both of her heats on Saturday at the AHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships in Auburn.
"This is concluding one of the most remarkable careers in high school history of any athlete ever," said THS head swimming coach John Mask. "Winning a championship at any level is amazing."
Stewart, the University of Alabama commit, was first in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. The senior had a time of 51.77 in the freestyle final and a 56.31 in the backstroke final.

She was approximatley three seconds faster than her closest competitor in the freestyle for the blue ribbon. She was almost four seconds faster than the runner-up in the backstroke.
"We practice about two to two half hours each day," said Stewart of her work ethic. "Sometimes you feel like you need a break, but you've got to keep training."
THS junior Camden Mask was just off the pace for state titles of his own, finishing second in two events; the 100-yard breastroke and 200-yard individual medley.
"It's hard work," said Mask, who along with his teammate went right back to practice this week. "If you take two days off, you feel like crap."
Both Mask and Stewart will be competing at the Southeastern Swim Meet in Huntsville in February.
