THS Students Eligible for ASF Elite Ambassadors
The ASF Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 1982, is a statewide mentoring organization teaching Alabama youth the importance of academics, healthy lifestyles and good citizenship. One of the programs the ASF Foundation founded to reach Alabama youth is the Student Ambassador Program. The Student Ambassador Program, started in 2001, is a rare opportunity for high school students to develop their skills in leadership, community involvement, confidence building, communication, public speaking and networking. This year we are testing a new format for the program. This year we will select in September, through an application process, 100 Ambassadors from across the State of Alabama. These 100 Ambassadors will compete in a number of tasks from September thru June for 20 Elite Ambassador Slots with one Ambassador being selected as Ambassador of the Year. The 20 Elite Ambassadors will each be awarded a $500 academic scholarship. The Ambassador of the Year will be awarded a $5,000 academic scholarship. Applications will be accepted on-line starting August 2nd and ending August 31st. High School students currently enrolled in 9th grade - 12 grade are invited to apply.
