Recently, District 31 Representative Troy Stubbs donated $55,000 to Tallassee City Schools in support of its F.E.E.T. program. The F.E.E.T. program serves to engage school families by conducting home visits as well as hosting quarterly, engaging Tiger Parent Night events. F.E.E.T. originated from Governor Ivey’s Emergency Educational Relief fund, which expired September 2022. The program has been sustained with High Hope At Risk funding, Community Service Grants from District 31 and a variety of lesser grant funds as well as community support. The F.E.E.T. implementation has been successful in bridging the gap between school and home. Team members are dedicated to visiting, calling, sending handwritten notes and providing incentives to students such as birthday bundle gifts, as well as partnering with Elmore County Family Resource Center to host events such the Elmore County Hispanic Family Initiative. With additional financial support for the 2023-2024 school term, F.E.E.T.  provided academic support backpacks. Also, grant funds support quarterly Tiger Nights which allow incentives such as the following: door prizes, snacks, at-home math manipulatives, journals, parent supplies to support social and emotional learning, etc. With the continued support from partners like Mr. Stubbs, we are confident that school/family partnerships will become stronger thereby inspiring our students, responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
