Tallassee High School fielded twenty-one swimmers this season. The team had lots of success in making sectional cuts and qualified to take fourteen swimmers to the sectional swim meet.  Both the men’s and women’s team finished third at the AHSAA Central sectional swim meet.

At the AHSAA State Swim Meet, the Tallassee Women’s Team finished in 9th place in Class 1A-5A.  The Men’s team finished in 11th Place in Class 1A-5A.

THS junior Macey Stewart won two additional state titles this season which brings her total number of individual championships to SEVEN! This year she won the Women’s 100 Yard Freestyle Class 1A-5A with a time of 51.15 and the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 55.31. She bested her old state record of 55.75.  Macey now holds the record for fastest 100-yard backstroke in the history of swim for Alabama class 1A-5A.

Junior Camden Mask finished 4th in two events.  He improved on last years’ time in the 100 Breaststroke by over four seconds with a time of 1:00.69. Camden also swam a time of 2:10.29in the Men’s 200 Yard IM Class for a 4th place finish. 

Adam Aldridge finished 8th in the state in the Men’s 500 Yard Freestyle Class 1A-5A with a time of 6:06.49. 

Tallassee’s Women’s 200 Yard Medley Relay group finished 7th in the State with a time of 2:07.07.  Members of this relay team are Macey Stewart, Valerie Johnson, Ivy Davis, and Allison Johnson. 

The Coaching Staff would like to thank each swimmer for their hard work! Coach John Mask says, “Many records were broken, and our team continues to grow and improve every year.”

We would also like to congratulate Macey Stewart on another record-breaking season and on winning her seventh state individual title. “In athletics, when you compete at the highest level this is not an easy task, and it is to be celebrated,” says Coach Mask.
